Powerplay Magazine review of Alienation and Home Movies DVD:

Those quality christian rockers, Cry Holy, return with, "Alienation", their brand new album on Metal Mayhem Music. It sees them in fine form, delivering their brand of AOR in a very slick and polished fashion. This is head and shoulders above their last release, "Ten From Two". A strong blend of harmonies, keyboards and guitars, all coupled with the majestic vocals of Randy Loran (Steve Perry, or what!), go into making this one of the best Christian rock albums of the last five years. Take a listen to the awesome "Shine", or the breathtaking "Strangers To This World" and marvel at the stunning "I Wanna Be Free" and if they aren't good enough for ya, then how about the pomp-rock masterpiece that is "Masquerade Ball", pure Red Dawn, and then some! They've also just released a very entertaining DVD entitled "Home Movies: Live From Around Seattle". Containing thirteen live performances, this DVD is the perfect companion to "Alienation". Taken from several gigs, festivals and churches, it sees the band performing these songs in an immaculate fashion, with the likes of "I Wanna Be Free" and "Masquerade Ball" being two of many highlights. In Cry Holy, we have a very gifted AOR band, long may they reign.
