Grunge Music Bands-1990s Alternative Rock Bands
Rock music played a very important part during the 1990s. The rock music scene dominated from the early part of the decade towards its middle part. The rise of grunge music that time defines an important part of what has been the alternative rock phenomenon in that decade. Grunge music is also referred to as Seattle Sound as lots of the bands at that time were from Seattle, Washington.
Below is a list of some of the well known 90s bands of Seattle.
• Nirvana: With the remarkable success of its 1991 album, 'Nevermind', Nirvana almost single-handedly brought the whole alternative rock commercial success.
• Pearl Jam: It is another Seattle rock band famous for its album 'Ten'. This album together with Nirvana's 'Nevermind', generally considered to have catapulted alternative rock in the early 90's towards the mainstream music spotlight.
• Alice in Chains: This group was formed in 1987 and was known for their guitar-intense and distortion-filled music as represented in their album, 'Dirt'.
There were many such bands which brought grunge music in the forefront.
